Influenced by traces an architect back to the mentor or predecessor whose ideas shaped their own. Wikipedia records that Frank Lloyd Wright apprenticed in Chicago "first briefly with Joseph Lyman Silsbee, and then with Louis Sullivan at Adler & Sullivan" before opening his own practice. This dimension shows the lineage of ideas running from one architect to the next.
