St Margaret's Church, Hales

Religious and Sacred Buildings

St Margaret's Church is a 12th-century Norman church standing in open fields south of the village of Hales in Norfolk, England, with a round tower that may date to the 11th century and windows added in the 13th and 14th centuries. Built of flint, brick and conglomerate with limestone dressings under a thatched roof, it is described as an almost perfect Norman church, with its round tower and semicircular apse. Long declared redundant, it was designated a Grade I listed building in 1960 and is maintained by the Churches Conservation Trust.
