Organization Types as Concepts

Certification is part of testing, inspection and certification and the provision by an independent body of written assurance, a certificate, that the product, service or system in question meets specific requirements. The cited article calls it the formal attestation or confirmation of certain characteristics of an object, person or organization, often but not always provided by some form of external review, education, assessment or audit, and notes that accreditation is a specific organization process of certification. In the atlas it names the kind of architecture organization that certifies products, buildings or people, the certification body. Architecture organizations recorded in the atlas as certification bodies are grouped under this concept.
