Cultural and Institutional Buildings

Buildings built to house cultural, educational or civic-assembly institutions: the museum, the opera house, the cultural center, the exhibition building, the stadium, the pavilion and the amphitheater. Belongs here: any named building whose primary purpose is to house a museum, performance venue, exhibition, sporting event or similar public cultural institution. Does not belong here: a government building housing an administrative function rather than a cultural one, grouped under government and civic buildings, or a religious building, grouped under religious and sacred buildings even where it also serves a cultural role.
