The Pyramid of Menkaure is the smallest of the three main pyramids of the Giza pyramid complex, built as the tomb of the Fourth Dynasty king Menkaure. It has roughly one tenth the volume of the Pyramid of Khufu and is part of a complex that includes a mortuary temple, a valley temple, a causeway, and three smaller subsidiary pyramids on its southern side. Numerous signs of unfinished work show that Menkaure died before the monument was complete, leaving its completion to his successor Shepseskaf.
