St Andrew's Church, Westhall

Religious and Sacred Buildings

St Andrew's Church is a flint parish church in the village of Westhall near Halesworth in Suffolk, England, with a tower dating from the 13th century, a 14th-century chancel, and an eastern entrance dating from around 1100 reflecting its Norman-era origins and later medieval expansions in a non-standard layout of nave, south aisle chancel and tower. An active Anglican parish church in the Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich, it was designated a Grade I listed building on 1 September 1953, and it preserves medieval decorative elements including a rare surviving screen depicting the Transfiguration and a font panel published on the cover of a scholarly work on pre-Reformation English religion. Has Building Type

Entity-backed identity for the building-type enum value this building already carries, resolved to an architecture concept by an explicit value-to-entity map (phase 3 bucket conversion, docs\design_entity_backed_browse_buckets_20260928.md). The building-type fact itself stays on the building unchanged.
