Russian Bishop's House

Religious and Sacred Buildings

The Russian Bishop's House is a two-story log structure built in 1841 to 1843 in Sitka, Alaska, by Finnish laborers employed by the Russian American Company, originally serving as the residence of the Russian Orthodox bishop and, for a time, the Russian Mission Orphanage. One of the oldest surviving buildings of Russian America, it stands at Lincoln and Monastery Streets and is now a historic house museum operated by the National Park Service as part of Sitka National Historical Park, open to the public through ranger-guided tours. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1962 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1966. Has Building Type

House, Concepts

Entity-backed identity for the building-type enum value this building already carries, resolved to an architecture concept by an explicit value-to-entity map (phase 3 bucket conversion, docs\design_entity_backed_browse_buckets_20260928.md). The building-type fact itself stays on the building unchanged.
