The Spanish Synagogue stands in the Josefov district of Prague, Czech Republic, completed in 1868 to the architectural plans of Vojtech Ignac Ullmann and Josef Niklas with interior decoration by Antonin Baum and Bedrich Munzberger, in a Moorish Revival style drawn from medieval Islamic Spanish art. It replaced an older synagogue called the Altschul on the same site and served as a Reform Jewish congregation until it was repurposed as a Jewish museum space in 1955. Administered today by the Jewish Museum in Prague, it reopened to the public after restoration in 1998.
