San Marco in San Girolamo

The Church of San Marco in San Girolamo is a Baroque parish church in Vicenza, in northern Italy, built between 1720 and 1727 for the Discalced Carmelites on the site of an earlier fifteenth-century Jesuati convent, of which only the bell tower survives. Its facade, completed in 1756 to a design by Carlo Corbellini, and its interior, shaped by contributors including Giorgio Massari and Giuseppe Marchi, house artworks by early eighteenth-century Veneto painters, and the sacristy preserves its original furniture of 157 doors and 93 drawers from the same period, restored in 1988 and 1989. The church was consecrated in 1760 and remains an active parish church today.
