The Jama Masjid, formally the Masjid-i-Jahan-Numa, is one of the largest mosques in India, standing in the Old Delhi area of Delhi. It was built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan between 1644 and 1656 and served as the imperial mosque of the Mughal emperors until the empire's end in 1857.
