The Church of the Light is the main chapel of the Ibaraki Kasugaoka Church, a congregation of the United Church of Christ in Japan, built in 1989 in the city of Ibaraki, Osaka Prefecture. Designed by the Japanese architect Tadao Ando, it is one of his most celebrated works and is known for the cross shaped opening cut into its concrete wall that admits light into the otherwise dark sanctuary.
