Casa Vicens

Residential Buildings

Casa Vicens is a modernist house in the Gràcia neighbourhood of Barcelona, Spain, designed by Antoni Gaudí and generally regarded as his first major project. Planned between 1878 and 1880 and built between 1883 and 1885, the house draws on an orientalist, Neo-Mudéjar inspired style reinterpreted in Gaudí's own manner, and it was the first building in which he used constructive techniques that later became recurring features of Catalan Modernisme.
