A residential property recorded and preserved as a historic district rather than as one single dwelling: a cluster of several houses, farm buildings or ancillary structures registered together as one historic unit because their significance lies in the ensemble as a whole rather than in any single building alone. This group gathers residential entries whose own recorded description identifies them this way, distinguishing them from a single historic house, however old or well documented, and from a working farmstead or plantation recorded and grouped above as one integrated estate rather than as a listed multi-building historic district in its own right.
