Thornhill is a Greek Revival plantation house near Forkland in Greene County, Alabama, built in 1833 for planter James Innes Thornton to a design by state architect William Nichols. The house is organized around a central hall with a spiral staircase and four rooms on each floor, and gained its two story portico with six Ionic columns in an addition made around 1850. Its plantation lands once covered more than 2,600 acres of cotton farmland, later expanded to about 5,000 acres before shrinking to roughly 2,000 acres today. Thornhill was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
