Little England is a historic plantation house near Gloucester, Virginia, on land granted to the Perrin family in 1651. A descendant, also named John Perrin, built the house in 1716 on a point overlooking the York River across from Yorktown, on plans reputed to have been drawn by Christopher Wren, and it served as a lookout for ships during the Battle of Yorktown. The two and a half story, five bay, gable roofed brick dwelling is built in the Georgian style with Flemish bond brickwork, and a frame wing was added in 1954. Considered one of Virginia's least altered and best preserved colonial plantation homes, with some of the finest surviving colonial paneling in the state, it was restored in 1939 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1970.
