Taliesin is the house and studio Frank Lloyd Wright built for himself near Spring Green, Wisconsin, beginning in 1911. The estate went through three building phases: the original Taliesin I was destroyed by a 1914 fire that also killed Wright's partner Mamah Borthwick and six others, its rebuilt successor Taliesin II burned again in an electrical fire in 1925, and the resulting Taliesin III served as Wright's home for the rest of his life. Wright lost the house to foreclosure in 1927 but reacquired it the next year with help from friends. The same building is also recorded in the arts atlas as a work of Wright's design; it is documented here as the architectural structure itself.
