Blandfield

Blandfield is a Georgian colonial plantation house near Caret in Essex County, Virginia, built about 1716 to 1720 for William Beverley, son of Virginia's first native-born historian Robert Beverley Jr. The brick house has a two-story central block flanked by two-story dependencies connected by one-story hyphens, and the estate, which remained in the same family through at least 1969, spans about 3,500 acres. It was placed on the Virginia Landmarks Register in May 1969 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places later that year.
