Meridian Plantation

Meridian Plantation is a quail-hunting plantation in central Leon County, Florida, established in 1915 by Arthur Lapsley on land earlier known as Mossview Plantation. In 1933 it was purchased by Dwight F. Davis, a former Assistant Secretary of War under President Calvin Coolidge and Governor General of the Philippines who also founded the Davis Cup tennis competition. After Davis's death in 1945 the property passed to Griscom Bettle, a nephew of Lloyd C. Griscom of the neighboring Luna Plantation. Meridian borders the Ayavalla Plantation to the west and the Live Oak Plantation to the south.
