Orchard Pond Plantation

Orchard Pond Plantation was a large forced-labor cotton farm of 8,754 acres in what is now northwestern Leon County, Florida, developed and owned in the 19th century by Richard Keith Call, an attorney, planter and future Territorial Governor of Florida. By 1860, Call held 118 enslaved people to work 1,300 acres of improved land there, one of two plantations he owned in Leon County, and his descendants continued to own the property into the 20th century.
