Belmont is a historic plantation house near Capron in Southampton County, Virginia, built around 1790. The one and a half story frame house has weatherboard siding, a side gable roof with dormers, a brick foundation, and a central hall plan with Chinese lattice railings on its second story porch. The 145 acre property includes a contributing smokehouse and office building. Belmont is historically significant as the site where Nat Turner's 1831 slave rebellion was effectively suppressed on August 23 of that year. The property was listed on the Virginia Landmarks Register and National Register of Historic Places in 1973.
