Alvord House

The Alvord House is a historic stone farmhouse in the town of Salina, New York, just north of Syracuse, built in 1835 by the Alvord family, merchants in the salt manufacturing business that was emerging in the area during the early nineteenth century. It was the main house among a small cluster of other homes and outbuildings on the family farm, and today the stone house is the only survivor of the Alvord estate, standing within a small public park in the hamlet of Lyncourt. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.
