Arabella Station

Arabella Station is a commercial building at 5600 Magazine Street in the Uptown neighborhood of New Orleans, Louisiana, built in 1893 to a design by the city engineer Linus W. Brown and constructed by the Youngstown Bridge Company. It was built as a carbarn for the storage and parking of streetcars, and it is also known as the Arabella Carbarn and the Upper Magazine Station or Carbarn. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 4, 1996, as a record of New Orleans's streetcar infrastructure, and it has since been adaptively reused, opening in December 2002 as a Whole Foods Market with adjoining off-street parking.
