Ardenwood Historic Farm is a Regional Historic Landmark in Fremont, California, centered on a Queen Anne style farmhouse built in 1857 for George Washington Patterson, a Pennsylvania born prospector of the California Gold Rush who settled in Alameda County, and substantially enlarged in phases around 1883 to 1889 and again around 1910 to 1915. Patterson named the estate after the Forest of Arden in Shakespeare's As You Like It. Now managed by the East Bay Regional Park District, the property combines the historic mansion with a working farm, a narrow gauge railroad recreation, and a former Indigenous village site, and has operated as a public historic park since 1985, hosting seasonal events alongside its museum displays.
