An arena is a large enclosed venue, usually circular or oval in shape, built to host theatrical productions, concerts or sporting events. It centers on a large open floor surrounded on most or all sides by tiered seating, sometimes under a roof, with the event floor set at the lowest point in the building so that spectators keep a clear line of sight. Arenas are generally designed to hold a large number of spectators at once.
