Brooke Street Pier

Brooke Street Pier is a floating pontoon building at Franklin Wharf in Sullivans Cove, Hobart, Tasmania, built between April 2014 and January 2015 at a cost of about 13 million Australian dollars to a design by architect Robert Morris-Nunn. Measuring 80 meters by 20 meters and weighing about 5,300 tonnes, the four level structure was Australia's largest floating building on completion, clad in semi-translucent polycarbonate lit by LEDs and held in place by an environmentally sensitive Seaflex mooring system. It serves primarily as a ferry terminal for Hobart's harbor cruise and commuter services, while also housing a restaurant, cafe, market space for Tasmanian produce, and an event venue that can hold up to 1,200 people.
