Bush-Lyon Homestead

Bush-Lyon Homestead is a historic home located at Port Chester in Westchester County, New York, within John Lyon Park on King Street. Its earliest part was built about 1720 as a one-and-a-half-story frame residence with a saltbox configuration, later modified around 1800, and it retains a center stone chimney along with outbuildings that include a carriage house, former slave quarters and a corn crib. Revolutionary War general Israel Putnam used the homestead as his headquarters in 1777 and 1778, and the Village of Port Chester purchased it from the Bush estate in 1925. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 22, 1982.
