Casa do Sítio da Ressaca

Casa do Sitio da Ressaca is a colonial-era farmhouse in the Jabaquara district of Sao Paulo, Brazil, built in 1719 in the Bandeirista style associated with 17th and 18th century Paulista ranch buildings. It was constructed of rammed earth with an asymmetrical six-room plan, a pitched gable roof, and original wood doors and window frames, and unlike most Bandeirista houses it has no chapel. The property was expropriated in 1969 for construction of the Sao Paulo Metro, restored in the late 1970s, damaged by fire in 1986, and rebuilt again to become part of the Jabaquara Cultural Center in 1990, where it now hosts exhibitions on Afro-Brazilian heritage and a municipal library.
