Castle Harrison

Castle Harrison was a country house near Ballyhea and Charleville in north County Cork, Ireland, formerly known as Castle Dodd and associated with the Fitzgerald family on maps as early as 1736. By 1837 it was occupied by Standish Harrison and became the seat of the Harrison family, remaining so until it was inherited by five sisters in 1951 and sold to the Irish Land Commission in 1956; the house was demolished in the 1950s. A family vault at Aglishdrinagh Churchyard was built by Henry Harrison, who served as Commissioner of Customs in Ireland around 1710.
