Cromwell Manor, also known as the David Cromwell House and the Joseph Sutherland House, stands on Angola Road in Cornwall, New York, just south of its junction with US 9W. The property consists of four buildings, chief among them an 1820 Greek Revival manor house enlarged in 1840 and a 1779 cottage called The Chimneys, the original dwelling on the site. When it was built, the manor house was one of the first large houses in rural Cornwall raised as a luxury home rather than a farmhouse, and one of the few Greek Revival buildings in the town built of brick. After more than a century as a Cromwell family home it passed to use as a teachers' retreat, and as of 2022 operates as the Cromwell Manor Historic Inn; it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.
