The Ellora Caves are a UNESCO World Heritage Site near Aurangabad, India, and one of the largest rock cut cave complexes in the world, with Hindu, Buddhist and Jain excavations dating from about AD 600 to 1000. Cave 16 contains the Kailash temple, the largest single monolithic rock excavation in the world, a chariot shaped monument dedicated to the god Shiva.
