Emirates Palace

Emirates Palace is a hotel in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, designed by the firm Wimberly Allison Tong and Goo and built by the Belgian contractor BESIX, opening in February 2005 at a reported construction cost of around three billion dollars. The building is organized around a large central dome flanked by 114 smaller domes, built in a style drawing on Islamic architectural motifs of symmetry and geometric ornament, with an exterior finished in a sand-toned stone chosen to echo the surrounding desert. It contains close to 400 rooms and suites, including a set of Rulers' Suites reserved for visiting heads of state, along with extensive gardens, a private beach and marina facilities. Kempinski managed the hotel from its opening until 2020, when Mandarin Oriental took over its operation.
