The Fairbanks House is a timber-frame farmhouse at 511 East Street in Dedham, Massachusetts, built around 1641 by the Puritan settler Jonathan Fairbanks for his wife Grace and their family. Dendrochronology testing has dated its timbers to between 1637 and 1641, making it the oldest surviving timber-frame house in North America verified by that method. The house stayed in the Fairbanks family for eight generations and was expanded repeatedly as the family grew and styles changed, while retaining an unusual amount of its seventeenth century fabric. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1960 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1966, and is now run as a museum by the Fairbanks Family in America.
