Ferry Farm

Ferry Farm, also known as the George Washington Boyhood Home Site, is the farm in Stafford County, Virginia, along the Rappahannock River across from Fredericksburg, where George Washington spent much of his childhood. Archaeologists announced in 2008 that they had located the remains of the original boyhood home, which had burned in 1740, along with artifacts including pieces of a cream-colored tea set believed to have belonged to Washington's mother, Mary Ball Washington. The George Washington Foundation built a replica of the house on the original site, completing it in 2018, and it is open to the public.
