Forth Bridge

The Forth Bridge is a cantilever railway bridge across the Firth of Forth in eastern Scotland, about nine miles west of Edinburgh, designed by engineers John Fowler and Benjamin Baker and completed in 1890. Built of steel in a distinctive triple cantilever form, it held the record for the longest cantilever span in the world until 1919 and remains the second longest single cantilever span in the world. It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2015 and is regarded as a symbol of Scotland.
