The Hotel George V opened in 1928 on the avenue of the same name near the Champs-Elysees in Paris, named in honor of Britain's King George V, and it operated as one of the city's leading luxury hotels through the twentieth century. The building underwent an extensive multi-year renovation completed in 1999 after the Four Seasons hotel group took over its management, restoring period detailing while modernizing its interiors and adding an extensive art collection drawn from the owner's private holdings. It is widely known today for its elaborate seasonal floral displays created by the designer Jeff Leatham and for housing the Michelin three-starred restaurant Le Cinq.
