The Hungarian Parliament Building, also known as the Parliament of Budapest, is the seat of the National Assembly of Hungary, a notable landmark of the country and a popular tourist destination, situated on Kossuth Square on the Pest side of the city along the eastern bank of the Danube. Designed by the Hungarian architect Imre Steindl in neo-Gothic style, it opened in 1902 and has remained the largest building in Hungary ever since. Its architectural style was influenced by the Gothic Vienna City Hall, while renaissance elements such as its cupola drew on the Maria vom Siege church in Vienna.
