Kesäranta, whose name means summer shore and which is also known by the Swedish name Villa Bjälbo, is the official residence of the Prime Minister of Finland, situated in the Meilahti neighborhood of Helsinki overlooking Seurasaarenselkä. The building was originally designed by Frans Ludvig Calonius in 1873 and later modified by Elia Heikel in 1887 and Jac Ahrenberg in 1904, and it is owned by the Finnish government through Senate Properties. It has served as the prime minister's official residence since 1919, and the surrounding area is kept as restricted airspace.
