Kingsley Plantation

Kingsley Plantation, also known as the Zephaniah Kingsley Plantation Home and Buildings, is a former estate on Fort George Island in Duval County, Florida, named for its longtime owner Zephaniah Kingsley, who lived there for twenty-five years. Its owner's house, built around 1797 to 1798, is the oldest surviving plantation house standing in Florida. The plantation once covered the entire roughly seven-hundred-acre island, and the site still preserves twenty-three tabby-concrete slave cabins considered among the best-preserved examples of their kind in the United States. The property was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1970 and became part of the National Park Service in 1991.
