Latta Place

Latta Place, formerly known as Latta Plantation or Latta House, is a historic house near Huntersville, North Carolina, close to Mountain Island Lake. Built around 1800, the house is primarily Federal in style with some Georgian details, most visible in its main staircase. The property also includes the Ezekiel Alexander Log Home, a log structure built between 1760 and 1790 that was relocated there from nearby Charlotte. Mecklenburg County owns the site through its parks and recreation department and operates it as a living history museum depicting daily life in the antebellum North Carolina Piedmont, with programs including battle reenactments and summer camps. Latta Place was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.
