Loveridge Plantation

Loveridge Plantation is a quail hunting plantation in northern Leon County, Florida, established by the businessman George H. Love on 1,000 acres at the northwest corner of Lake Miccosukee, then enlarged in 1956 by 10,500 acres bought from the Sunny Hill Plantation estate of former New Jersey governor Walter E. Edge. Love, a Pittsburgh native, had chaired the Consolidation Coal Company and the M.A. Hanna Company before becoming chairman of Chrysler Corporation, succeeding George M. Humphrey there in 1953. The plantation borders the Norias, Foshalee, Welaunee, and Ring Oak plantations; the source consulted describes its ownership and extent but not its buildings, a gap left for a later depth pass.
