Masjid al-Haram

Masjid al-Haram, also known as the Great Mosque of Mecca, is the holiest and most important mosque in Islam, located in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. As of 2026 it is the largest mosque in the world, enclosing the Kaaba, the cuboid structure at its center that is Islam most sacred site and the focus of circumambulation during the Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages. The complex covers about 356,000 square meters, holds roughly 3 million worshippers, and carries 13 minarets standing 139 meters tall.
