The Minnesota Soldiers Home, later renamed the Minnesota Veterans Home, stands near Minnehaha Falls in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Minnesota Legislature authorized it in 1887 as a place of rest for Civil War veterans, and construction began in 1888 to designs by the architect Warren B. Dunnell, with landscaping by Horace W. S. Cleveland, its buildings mixing Classical Revival, Art Deco and Romanesque styles. Medical care was not made a priority at the home until after the First World War. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 2, 1989.
