Modular building

A modular building is a prefabricated building assembled from repeated factory built sections called modules, each manufactured indoors under controlled conditions before being transported to the final site. A module typically takes one to three months to build on an assembly line and arrives sixty to ninety percent complete, ready to be lifted into place by crane and joined side by side, end to end or stacked with other modules through standard inter module connections. Modular buildings are built from the same materials and to the same building codes as buildings assembled entirely on site, and the method is used for housing as well as offices, schools and other structures.
