Mortuary Temple of Mentuhotep III

The Mortuary Temple of Mentuhotep III is an unfinished ancient Egyptian temple at Deir el Bahari, in the Theban Necropolis near Luxor. Had it been completed, it would likely have resembled the nearby and better known mortuary temple of Mentuhotep II. Only the king's tomb, the probable burial place of Mentuhotep III cut into the Theban mountain, was finished to any real extent, and when it was discovered the tomb was mistaken for a private burial and numbered TT281 under the numbering system used for the Theban tombs of the Valley of the Nobles.
