Mulberry Hill (Randolph, Virginia)

Mulberry Hill is a historic plantation house near Randolph in Charlotte County, Virginia, combining an 18th-century core with mid-19th-century additions, including a projecting two-story front pavilion, flanking wings, a rear addition, and a mid-19th-century porch with a full Doric entablature on octagonal Doric columns. The 40-acre property was home to Paul Carrington (1733-1818), a Virginia judge and political figure who is buried on the grounds, and its outbuildings include his office along with kitchens, smokehouses, and former slave dwellings. It was listed on the Virginia Landmarks Register in 1972 and the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, and in 1999 the Butler family donated it to expand Staunton River Battlefield State Park.
