Nellcote is a sixteen room mansion built in 1899 on a headland above the sea at Villefranche sur Mer on the French Riviera, originally named Chateau Amicitia and renamed when the Bordes family acquired it in 1919. It became widely known in rock music history as the house where the Rolling Stones recorded the basement sessions for their 1972 album Exile on Main St. As of the mid 2000s the villa remained a private residence.
