Patterson Homestead

The Patterson Homestead is a historic house museum at 1815 Brown Street in Dayton, Ohio, built in 1816 by Colonel Robert Patterson, a veteran of the American Revolutionary War, with Federal-style sections added over the following forty years. It was the childhood home of Patterson's grandsons John Henry Patterson and Frank Jefferson Patterson, who went on to found the National Cash Register Company in 1884. The Patterson family donated the house to the city of Dayton in 1953, and it now operates as a museum under Dayton History, with six rooms displaying period and family artifacts; it was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 29, 1976.
