Pharsalia is a historic plantation house and farm complex located near Tyro, Nelson County, Virginia. Its main house was built between 1814 and 1816 using slave labor, and is a one story, eleven bay, linear, single pile, Federal style frame manor house with a standing seam metal gable roof and a three bay porch under its own gable roof. It was enlarged in the mid nineteenth century into its current T shaped plan. Also on the property are a contributing kitchen, laundry and former slave hospital building from 1834, an icehouse, a crib barn, a smokehouse from 1814, a weaving room, several former slave quarters, and a privy, along with the sites of a commercial smokehouse and a mill.
