The Pyramid of Ahmose was built during the reign of the Ancient Egyptian king Ahmose I at Abydos in Upper Egypt. It was the last royal pyramid ever built in Egypt, since Ahmose I's successors chose not to be buried in pyramids, and it is the only royal pyramid built from the start purely as a cenotaph rather than an actual tomb.
