The Pyramid of Neferirkare is the funerary monument built for the pharaoh Neferirkare Kakai of Egypt's Fifth Dynasty in the 25th century BC. It is the tallest and highest situated structure in the Abusir necropolis, which lies between Giza and Saqqara, and it still towers over the site. Its construction came as the Fifth Dynasty's pyramids grew smaller than those of the Fourth Dynasty and began following a more standardized template, even as their complexes gained increasingly intricate relief decoration.
